Hi there! My name is Alex Bruton and this website is meant to help my students and others who might be interested in the areas of spatial, geomatics, geospatial, and surveying engineering. It’s a project of passion that work on outside of my regular job. In today’s day where access to education is limited for so many and where $180 textbooks are not unheard of, one of the main goals is to experiment with getting high quality learning materials into as many learners’ hands as cost effectively as possible.
I hope the site is helpful to you and, in return, I require that you stay familiar with and agree to the Terms of Use found below.
Acceptance of the terms
By using, visiting, or browsing this website, you accept to be bound by these Terms of Use and to the terms of our Privacy Policy. If you do not agree to the Terms of Use and Privacy Policy, you not permitted to use this website.
Creative Commons license
Content on this website is being made available to people completely for free under a BY-NC-ND 4.0 Creative Commons license. The full terms of that license are summarized here:
and an easier-to-read summary is provided here:
What all of this boils down to is that you may use and make personal copies of (and even redistribute) the material as long as:
- You do not do so for any commercial purpose (including the commercial purposes of others, such as websites that share or distribute lecture notes and exam solutions);
- You do not redistribute any modifications you might make to the material;
- You give appropriate credit to Dr. Alex Bruton any time you do share with others, and provide a link to the page where you found the material, and provide a link to the license (this link);
- You do not share it in any way that suggests that I endorse you or your use; and
- You do not apply new legal terms or technological measures to legally restrict others from doing anything the license permits.
At a time when $180 textbooks are still not at all unheard of, what I’m trying to do with this license is make the material available to as many people as possible for free for their personal benefit while still protecting my opportunity to keep doing so.
What I’m asking for in return if you want to share what you find here with others is that you point people to my website. And, that if you do want to share a copy of something on my site yourself, you give me credit and link people back to where you found it.
If you’re a student or educator, please don’t hesitate to get in touch with me for bundled access aimed at increasing the efficiency with which you can access the content.
